Our Picks

These instruments represent the best of what Bass Southwest stands for — tone, craftsmanship, playability, and musical inspiration. Each pick is chosen because it offers something truly special, whether that’s a rare finish, exceptional build quality, or a voice that stands out in any mix.

At Bass Southwest, we don’t try to carry everything. We focus on exceptional instruments that stand out for tone, craftsmanship, and musicality. These are the basses we’re most excited about right now — instruments we’d happily play ourselves.

How to choose

Most players already know what they’re after — they just need help narrowing it down.

  • Tone goal: aggressive and punchy, warm and vintage, or clean and hi-fi.
  • Strings: 4 for classic feel, 5 for low-end authority, 6 for range and chordal work.
  • Feel: string spacing, neck shape, and weight can make or break the connection.
  • Collector vs. daily player: some pieces are rare; others are built to gig hard.

If you’re not sure, email us with what styles you play and what bass you’re coming from — we’ll help point you in the right direction.
